Position Announcement Position Title: Truck Driving Associate Instructor, Full-Time The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Elizabethton is accepting applications for a full-time Truck Driving Associate Instructor position at the Boones Creek Extension Campus. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma required - Valid commercial driver's license in Tennessee - Minimum of five years’ recent over-the-road driving experience with an exemplary record - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Ability to organize and deliver theoretical and practical instruction to prepare students for CDL certification - Teaching experience preferred GENERAL DUTIES: The Truck Driving Associate Instructor is responsible for teaching all aspects of the program, including: - Safety regulations, CDL regulations, and traffic laws - Road atlas navigation and highway route planning - Instruments and cab controls - Engine and air brake systems - Driving techniques for adverse weather conditions - Hazardous materials transportation - Clutch, gear, and transmission patterns - Coupling and uncoupling trailers - Obstacle course navigation and backing procedures - Defensive driving techniques - Over...
