Position Summary: Under direct supervision and within an established scope of practice, assists the provider with examinations, treatments, and special procedures of patients as directed by San Ysidro Health policies and procedures in a medical office or clinic setting. Essential Functions of The Job: Upholds San Ysidro Health's Policies and Procedures, Core Values and competencies and applicable state, federal and local laws. Performs routine patient care functions as prescribed by licensed health care providers following established clinical protocols and policies and procedures within defined scope of education, training and responsibilities. Assists assigned physician(s) and/or other health care professional(s). Clinical Duties: - Patient vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, weight and respiration) Rooming intake, including questionnaire and medication reconciliation - Prepares patients for examinations with proper caps, drapes and supplies - Cleans and sanitizes exam room after each patient - Assists with minor procedures - Collects specimens (blood, urine etc.) and labeling appropriately - Administers injections or medications after completion of 10 hours of medic...
