Description Wireless AI Foundation Model: The success of foundation models in NLP and vision inspires opportunities in wireless communications. This project aims at extending the foundation model paradigm to wireless communications, developing a universal feature extractor capable of addressing diverse tasks in wireless communication and sensing. Tasks to be performed: The tasks include leveraging advanced AI architectures and self-supervised learning to train models capable of extracting generalized features without the need for labeled data, solving proxy tasks such as reconstructing missing channel measurements or predicting channel states across temporal and spatial domains. The approach will build on recent successes in computer vision and natural language processing, adapting these methodologies to the unique challenges of wireless communications.
