Description Position Overview: The Computational Research and Development Intern supports SHINE Technologies’ research and development efforts related to processing and transmutation systems for recycling used nuclear fuel. The role focuses on computational analysis, workflow development, and optimization of coupled nuclear systems, with opportunities to contribute to broader fuel cycle studies, test system design, and software development based on background and interests. The base salary range for this position is $20.00/hour-$25.00/hour. Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop and analyze neutronics models to support system design and optimization. - Use computational tools to iterate full system designs, including reprocessing, nuclear analysis, and economic considerations. - Review existing research, regulations, and technical documentation to contextualize analytical results. - Improve and develop computational workflows to enable efficient full-system optimization. - Document computational procedures, methodologies, and results. - Assist with writing internal and external technical reports summarizing work and progress. - Collaborate with SHINE team members and external insti...
