Description The University of Rochester Medical Center’s Department of Family Medicine (DFM) is seeking an exceptional and innovative scholar to lead the Family Medicine Research Division (FMRD) as Director of Research. Research within the Department of Family Medicine includes themes of communication related to health and healthcare, healthcare equity, nutrition, clinician well-being, and implementation research to advance equity and value in primary care. Our department is one of the longest standing family medicine departments in the US, a pioneer in the operationalization of the Biopsychosocial Model and the integration of behavioral science into primary care. Our foci include clinician self-awareness and well-being, communication skills training, and community partnerships, with a mission to address health and healthcare disparities. Our research often addresses inequities in health and access to healthcare by focusing on conditions such as hypertension, HIV/AIDS, cancer, and palliative care.
