Job description
BASIC PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Assists in the monthly closing of financial systems and applies generally accepted accounting principles to prepare accurate and timely financial reports and to analyze financial information. Analyzes department performance against historical, budgeted, or targeted levels to assist directors in decision making. Responsible for the hospital’s restricted fund accounting. Assists in the training and development of new staff accountants and provides the appropriate financial support for special projects as needed. REPORTS TO: Controller: JOB REQUIREMENTS: Supervisory Responsibilities: NO: Number of Direct Reports: Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related specialty required. Degree: Master’s degree in Accounting or in Healthcare Administration preferred. License/Certification Required: CPA Preferred: Minimum Work Experience: Minimum 3 years’ experience in healthcare accounting and financial analysis.
