Assistant Teacher II (Fairmount Rehab Programs)

Job description

Overview The Assistant Teacher II will support the special educators and therapists who serve a varied population of students in a full-day rehabilitation setting to support the patient’s educational needs during the rehabilitation stay, which may include instruction of work from school, implementation of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) if applicable, and support of the rehabilitation treatment plan of each student/patient. The incumbent will assist in adapting instruction to meet the individual academic, medical, developmental, and technological needs of students/patients and will be responsible for the general management of the classroom, including arrival, meal, and dismissal times; greeting families; and orienting students/patients to their schedules. The incumbent will be expected to consistently implement behavioral plans and will independently fulfill all teacher duties and responsibilities under the direction of the Educational Transition Therapist as needed.
