Job description

The Speech Pathologist is a novice to an advanced beginner level of practice, particularly as it relates to a hospital-based setting. The Speech Pathologist is able to perform assessments and therapeutic interventions with the routine patient population. This position supports team endeavors by performing department and/or team tasks, problem solving and intervention skills. The Speech Pathologist may orient other allied health professionals to their field upon the successful completion of their CFY year with the approval of the Department Manager. The Speech Pathologist may also provide student experiences per approval of the Coordinator of Student Supervision. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire: License (or licensure eligible) from the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Speech and Language Pathologist Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in SLP from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or Clinical Fellowship Year candidate Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment: Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a SLP Current CCC in SLP.
