Research Intern, AI & Visual Computing

Job description

Futurewei has multiple openings for AI and Visual Computing Research Intern. Candidates will be responsible for - Conduct Research in one of the areas of spatial computing, distributed architect, computer vision, graphic rendering, avatar animation, AI/ML modeling, and other technical areas related to XR and Metaverse. - A specific research topic will be identified in the above area, and aimed for independent research work that is suitable for academic publication of IEEE journals or/and conferences. - Work closely with other team members, jointly prototype, implement and evaluate algorithms; and optimize application or algorithm performance through analysis, code refactoring, and system tuning. - Some industrial and academic collaboration, and professional community involvement. Requirements: - Working towards MS & PhD in Computer Science, EE, or related fields - Proven experience in academic research and publication - Strong knowledge in software development in related fields with hands-on experiences - Proficient in at least one of the following programming languages: C/C++, Python - Proficient in at AI/ML, ideally familiar with some LLMs and image models such as SAM. - Knowledg...
