Job description

Purpose of the Role To maintain the functionality, safety, and appearance of facilities, grounds, and assets across Cairns and surrounding areas. This role combines general maintenance and repairs with gardening and yard upkeep, ensuring all sites are safe, well-presented, and ready for community use. Key Responsibilities: Maintenance & Site Care: - Perform general site maintenance and repairs, including fences, gates, paths, playgrounds, and garden infrastructure. - Inspect, maintain, and safely operate tools, equipment, and vehicles; perform basic car maintenance as required (fuel, washing, minor servicing). - Manage and track company assets, tools, and equipment to ensure operational readiness. - Respond promptly to maintenance requests and identify risks or hazards around facilities. Garden & Yard Upkeep: - Mow lawns, edge gardens, and maintain turf areas. - Trim hedges, shrubs, and trees safely. - Plant, water, fertilize, and care for flowers, shrubs, and other plants. - Remove weeds, debris, and rubbish from gardens and yards. - Assist with landscaping projects, including laying mulch, soil preparation, and irrigation systems.
