Overview Facilities Custodian (Porter) Samaritan Daytop Village operates over 60 facilities across NYC, Long Island, and the Lower Hudson Valley, providing a wide range of human services to more than 38,000 New Yorkers annually. The Porter is responsible for performing daily cleaning tasks—such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting—at a designated facility, ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients and staff. Responsibilities: Take initiative in maintaining a clean and orderly environment throughout the facility including common areas, restrooms, offices, and entrances Perform regular and detailed floor care including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and spot-cleaning, making use of a side-by-side stripping machine and high-speed buffing machine, while giving special attention to preserving the finish on vinyl flooring Proactively identify and address cleaning needs to uphold sanitation and safety standards Clean and disinfect bathrooms and high-touch surfaces in line with established hygiene protocols Remove trash and debris from both indoor and outdoor areas and clearing snow from the front exterior of the building when necessary Use cleaning equipment...
