The packaging engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining all supplier packing and material presentation to the factory. This requires collaboration with engineering, quality, supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing. Supplier packaging will be a significant portion of the total cost of ownership model. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Develop in collaboration with the inventory analyst packaging models for all raw materials supporting the plan for every part (PFEP) and total cost of ownership (TCO) models - Travel to the supply base to understand inbound materials and needed packaging - Develop monitoring tools to ensure and communicate supplier adherence to the supplier packaging policy - Develops and executes test methods, capability studies and protocols for packaging related improvements.
