They are responsible for preparing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex anesthesia equipment to ensure patient safety during surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities: Equipment Preparation: Set up, calibrate, and test anesthesia machines, ventilators, and monitoring devices (EKG, blood pressure cuffs, pulse oximeters) before surgeries. Clinical Assistance: Assist anesthesiologists and CRNAs during the induction and reversal of anesthesia. This includes positioning patients and maintaining patient airways. Monitoring & Support: Monitor patient vital signs during procedures and alert the medical team to any abnormal changes. Supply Management: Restock anesthesia carts, manage inventory of medications and gases (oxygen, nitrous oxide), and ensure all items are within expiration dates.
