Product & Process Development Engineer (PDE)

Job description

Position Overview We are seeking a Product & Process Development Engineer (PDE) to support new product introduction (NPI) and drive the seamless transition from concept to mass production. This role sits at the intersection of product design, manufacturing process development, and global operations , acting as a key technical bridge between customer engineering teams and Lens's manufacturing network. Key Responsibilities: Customer-Facing Product Development: Partner with customer design, mechanical, and manufacturing teams during early development phases Provide DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFA (Design for Assembly) recommendations Support design reviews, tolerance analysis, and material selection Process Development & Industrialization: Develop and validate manufacturing processes for precision components and assemblies (glass, metal, composites, etc.) Define process flows, tooling, fixtures, and control plans Lead process qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) and capability validation NPI Program Execution: Drive end-to-end NPI builds (EVT / DVT / PVT through mass production) Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies during ramp Coordinate cross-functional teams a...
