Job description

The News Photographer/Editor operates television or video cameras and editing equipment to record and produce images or scenes for news reports and other programming. Attention to detail is a key component in being successful in this position. - Shoots video for news reports - Work with news team to discuss assignments, logistics and shot requirements - Sets up, composes and executes video shots - Shoots and Edits Special Projects - Ability to work on packages with reporters or independently. - Maintains video and editing equipment - Edits video clips for television broadcasts and eMedia content - Operates live in microwave and satellite trucks for remote situations - Performs other duties as assigned - Organizes and strings together raw footage into a continuous whole according to scripts or instructions for newscasts and other programming - Reviews assembled footage on screens or monitors to determine whether corrections are necessary - Trims filmed segments to specified lengths and reassembles segments into sequences that present stories with maximum effect - Determines the specific audio and visual effects necessary to complete spots - Sets up and operates computer editing syst...
