Emergency Department Technician – Emergency Department Position Function: The Emergency Department Technician is under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager, Clinical Manager, or at the direction of a physician. Performs clerical, computer, phlebotomy, EKG, and other patient care duties in the Emergency Department. - 30-bed Emergency Care Unit - Rapid paced, high acuity unit with 155 visits per day; > 55,000 annual visits - ACLS, PALS, and EKG provided - An orientation program facilitated by a Clinical Educator, focused on Emergency Nursing especially for the novice nurse - PRN - will need to work a min of 24 hours off shift per 6 week schedule - 12-hour day/evening/night - Weekend and Holiday as needed - Shift and Weekend Differential Eligibility Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Job Class Specifics: 1. Assist physician in patient examinations and specific ED procedures. 2. Performs weekly checks of eyewash station as assigned. 3. Assists in order entry and clerical duties as needed. 4.
