Job Summary Phlebotomist (Part Time/PRN): Location: VA Bedford, MA - 200 Springs Rd, Bedford, MA 01730 Facility: Office of Veteran Affairs Medical Center – Bedford VAMC Schedule: Part Time/PRN including coverage for PTO and sick leave Travel: None Hourly: 27/hr plus 5.09 for H&W Position Summary: VA WRJ is experiencing a shortage of Phlebotomists and is seeking qualified professionals to provide onsite phlebotomy, specimen collection, and processing at a standard equal to a state-of-the-art civilian medical facility. Care must meet or exceed CLSI guidelines and recognized national standards. . Primary Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: Perform patient phlebotomy across settings: inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, Emergency Department (ED) , including STAT, ASAP, and timed draws . Process specimens and prepare/send-outs per protocol. Positively identify patients prior to collection and verify samples prior to testing or aliquoting. Safeguard electronic and paper patient information at all times. Identify, document, and resolve collection or processing issues promptly.
