POSITION SUMMARY: The Biomedical Specialist position provides service of patient related medical equipment in accordance to established departmental policies and procedures by performing a variety of routine tasks associated with the installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of a broad range of medical equipment with minimal guidance from an experienced technician or supervisor. In addition, this position is responsible for maintaining timely and accurate equipment maintenance records for all patient related medical equipment, including dates of repair, service, and safety inspections. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Associate's Degree in Biomedical Equipment Technology / Electronics, military training, or related field required. LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Valid driver's license. Advancement of Medical Instrumentation (AMI) or International Certification Commission (ICC), Certification preferred. EXPERIENCE: 1 year minimum of servicing a broad representation of electronic equipment required (preferably in a hospital type environment).
