Collections Specialist

Job description

We are seeking a Lead Collections Specialist to join our Accounting team and support the billing, credit, and collections functions. This role is responsible for proactively managing past-due accounts, reducing outstanding receivables, and ensuring timely customer payments. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills, attention to detail, and experience in accounts receivable and collections. - Monitor aging reports and follow up with customers on outstanding balances. - Contact customers via email and phone to secure timely payments and resolve past-due accounts. - Negotiate payment plans when necessary while maintaining positive customer relationships. - Investigate billing discrepancies, short payments, and customer disputes to ensure accurate resolution. - Work cross-functionally with Accounting, Sales, and Performance teams to address customer concerns. - Maintain accurate records of collection efforts and payment commitments. - Track collection activities and provide regular updates on delinquency trends and aging balances. - Utilize Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis) to generate reports and track performance metrics. - Identify opportunities to improve...
