THE ROLE: The Manager, Special Events Sales & Planning will assist the Director, Special Events with the development and management of sales and operations for special events at Sky View Observatory. This role will be responsible for supporting all activities within the special events department. Focusing specifically on soliciting business in the corporate and social markets to increase and maximize revenue, as well as detailing and managing events. The ideal candidate will have established contacts in the corporate and social markets to rely on while building a solid book of business. This individual is a collaborator and problem-solver with a strong work ethic and leadership skills who understands that customer satisfaction and enhacing revenue is key. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Events: - Proactively solicit new business by, among other things, making sales calls, attending trade shows, and engaging in other client prospecting in order to increase the size of the organization’s client database - Remain aligned with developing and discovering new avenues and methods of capturing new business within the corporate and social market - Qualify leads, draft proposals and co...
