Job Description The fitness Assistant monitors the fitness spaces in the Weinstein Center for Recreation and Wellness to ensure cleanliness, safety, and supervision of the facility and its members. Assists with the daily operations of the facility and circulates during shift, maintaining a visible presence in the facility, with a focus on monitoring the upstairs and downstairs fitness spaces. CONTACTS : Weinstein Center Members (students, faculty/staff and community) – to assess satisfaction and communicate essential information. QUALIFICATIONS : - Assist members with questions on how to use equipment properly. - Provide safety assistance in the weight room (spotting) as needed. - Perform preventative maintenance of fitness equipment (ensure members re-rack weights, clean equipment, organize multipurpose rooms and stretching spaces, etc.). - Accurately explain policies & procedures related to group exercise, personal training, and fitness special events. - Ensure all facility supplies are maintained (paper towels, hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes, cleaning spray bottles). - Work with the On-duty Facility Supervisor to access supplies. - Enforce policies and procedures, and provide...
