Environment Health and Safety Specialist

Job description

1. Facilitate, monitor and support management practices and projects aimed at achieving an organizational culture focused on EHS. 2. Monitor and actively participate in guidance and advice on current and future production activities ensuring compliance with applicable EHS legislation and regulations. 3. Maintain monitoring and reporting requirements of air emissions, industrial and hazardous waste disposal, storage tanks, storm water permitting, chemical purchase/storage, and water discharge programs. 4. Review and actively support all EHS investigations to ensure appropriate internal and external reporting, root cause and corrective action are implemented, follow-up to completion. 5. Responsibility for emergency and hazard response activities. Develop and maintain facility emergency response procedures. 6. Monitor changes in EHS legislation and regulations to ensure compliance with federal, state and municipal environmental permits and licensing requirements; and liaise with management to ensure compliance and integrated into operation. 7.
