Overview UIC Real Estate seeks a General Laborer. The individual will perform tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. This position is responsible to clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, set braces to support the sides of excavations, erect scaffolding, perform demolition activities, and clean up rubble, debris and other waste materials. Will identify and load/offload building materials, machinery, or tools, distributing them to the appropriate locations. May operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. May assist other craft workers. Responsibilities: Essential Functions: - Assist with repairs and upgrades to commercial and residential units. - Builds, repairs, and installs counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and trim. - Install glass in windows, doors, and partitions. - Replace damaged ceiling tiles, floor tiles, and wall coverings. - Build cabinets and other wooden equipment as requested. - Perform interior dry wall tasks and paint interior walls. - Install items such as window shades, win...
