Materials Manager

Job description

The Materials Manager is responsible for executing purchasing, production planning, and inventory management activities for the entire site, with a focus on best practice processes and achieving an optimal supply chain relative to metrics of Quality, Cost, and Delivery as determined by the Operating Company. Key Responsibilities: Develop strategic plan to achieve supply chain objectives, to include identifying and implementing spend strategies for the site. Responsible for supporting new product development and the ECN process as it pertains to purchasing and production planning. Responsible to maintain and development a material cost savings funnel in line with the Operating Company objectives. Responsible for driving identified and approved projects to completion. Manage sourcing projects and assume responsibility for Total Cost of Ownership (TCO). Manage supplier performance through supplier scorecards working with Supplier Quality Engineer. Measure monthly and annual materials goals that support the site objectives. Utilize value stream mapping and other lean tools to streamline processes and minimize inventory.
