Description The School of Art’s Summer Pre-College Program at Carnegie Mellon University continually seeks qualified adjunct instructors to teach various studio courses. This is an open call for part-time adjunct instructors in the areas of Drawing, Painting, Print Media, Photography, Sculpture, and Animation. The School of Art’s Pre-College Program is a three- or six-week academic experience for talented and highly motivated high school students entering their junior and senior years (grades 11 & 12). The 2024 summer program, which will operate in person and on campus, begins on June 24 and runs through August 2. In-person classes are offered on a Monday/Wednesday, Tuesday/Thursday schedule from 9am to 12pm, and 1pm to 4pm. Courses have an average enrollment of 15 students per class. Preferred Qualifications: · Engaged in an active studio practice · Experience teaching art in a higher education setting (high school teaching or instruction in informal learning environments would also be considered) · Ability to support the creative development of students whose backgrounds and skills vary widely · Enhancement of students’ ability to synthesize critique feedback to advance their tec...
