Description Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Assistant Director of Nursing is responsible for the organization and administration of the Nursing Department. The ADON works closely with front-line nursing supervisors to monitor the quality of patient care, orient and evaluate new employees; promote effective communication (inter and intra-departmental), and provide a quality work environment through teaming principles. In the absence of the Director of Nursing, the ADON assumes the Director of Nursing duties. - Responsible, along with the Director of Nursing, for the general morale of staff.
