Job description

Responsible for the 'Gross' examination of all routine tissues; processing frozen section specimens for the Pathologist; provides dissection assistance in the Frozen Section Laboratory after the case has initially been assessed by the Pathologist; primary prosector for autopsies, responsible for dissection and dictation for autopsy cases. **This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Also, Mayo Clinic DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program** Graduate of an Approved Pathologists' Assistant Program or an equivalent of the Pathology Assistant-type of work experience. Additional Skills and Qualifications: Must possess technical and operational knowledge of the Frozen Section Lab and pathology procedures for gross examination of all routine tissues. Must have adequate use of both hands. Must be able to distinguish color. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to handle contact with deceased patients. Must be able to use a microscope and handle clinical instrumentation. Must be able to tolerate exposure to chemical vapors from formaldehyde, acids, bases, and alcohol.
