As an Airport Police Officer Trainee, you will be trained to protect the travelling public, prevent crime and enforce applicable state and local laws. Airport Police Officers have the additional responsibility to enforce Airports Authority regulations. Airport Police Officer Trainee: Works under the direct supervision of a sworn supervisor. Serves in the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority Police Department at either Washington Dulles International Airport or Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport. Will be required to perform the following tasks: patrol an assigned area, mediate disputes, respond to calls for service, conduct searches, document suspicious behavior, detain suspicious persons, investigate criminal activity, collect evidence, interview victims and witness, arresting suspects, process prisoners, and testifying in court in accordance with Police General Orders.
