Job description

Under the direction of the Director, Department Manager, and supervisor the RN will assess, perform, document and evaluate professional independent nursing practice and perform related duties below: - Confirms scheduled date and time of surgery with the patient or designated caregiver - Admits patient to the perioperative area, assess patient and prepares the patient for surgery/planned procedure - Receives and monitors the patient’s condition post procedure per PACU, SDS and SDEX orders - Works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia team to assure safe, timely emergence for anesthesia - Effectively communicates discharge instructions with patients and families for their post- operative care after discharge Other duties as assigned: Work schedule: This is a 0.75 FTE (30 hours per pay period) with 10 hour shifts with start times between 10:30 - 12:30. Position requires you to work every fourth weekend. Additionally, the role requires coverage of one holiday per year.
