Department: Pharmacy Direct Supervisor: Pharmacy Manager Job Summary: Performs all duties of a licensed pharmacist; ensures the safety, security, and integrity of all medication; ensures strict adherence to all laws and regulations governing the dispensing and sale of pharmaceuticals; Upholds all Company policies and standard operating procedures. Essential Job Duties: - Reviews prescriptions issued by a physician or other authorized prescriber to ensure accuracy and appropriateness of medication, strength, dose, and directions of use. - Evaluates and answers questions, providing patients/customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of medications. - Maintains established procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of drugs designated as hazardous waste. - Instructs interns, students, and other personnel on matters pertaining to pharmacy. - Directs and oversees all pharmacy personnel engaged in labeling, packaging, and mixing pharmaceuticals. - Ensures that the pharmacy complies with the HIPAA laws/rules/regulations, the laws/rules/regulations of the board of pharmacy and/or regulatory agencies, and abides by and enf...
