Job Summary Urgent Care Physician (Locum): Location: Erie, PA (Erie VA Medical Center) Duration: 6-month contract + 6-month option Start Date: May 1, 2026 Position Overview: The Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Physician (FM or IM) to provide onsite urgent care services at the Erie VA Medical Center. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, timely care to veterans in a fast-paced urgent care setting. Schedule: - Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM (12-hour shifts) - Coverage: 7 days/week including weekends and federal holidays - Physicians must be present during scheduled shifts and support full operational coverage Primary Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: Clinical Duties (Approx. 85%): - Provide urgent care evaluation, triage, and treatment - Order and interpret diagnostic tests - Perform procedures as clinically indicated (e.g., laceration repair, I&D, splinting, etc.) - Stabilize and transfer patients when higher level of care is required - Document all encounters in the VA electronic health record (CPRS) - Provide discharge instructions and follow-up care guidance Additional Responsibilities: - Participate in consultations...
