Job description

Title: Director of Accounting Job Summary: This position is responsible for setting the strategic direction and managing services provided by the accounting office. The Director provides leadership for staff that provide accounting and financial reporting services including financial statement preparation, budget preparation and reporting, Tennessee Board of Regent and State of Tennessee required reporting, position control and budget, and any ad hoc financial or budgeting reporting. The position is also responsible for management reports that include analysis of trends and the status of delivered services. This role requires the director to participate in the department’s day-to-day activities. Budget: - Daily supervision of direct reports and may include indirect supervision of part-time employees. - Oversee the preparation of the Proposed, Revised & Estimated budgets. - Ensure budgets are submitted by due dates and in proper format to TBR. - Prepare budget summary as needed.
