Substitute Crossing Guards Contract, On-Call Position: Non-Union The Township of Springwater, located in Simcoe County, Ontario, is seeking highly motivated and experienced individuals to fill an existing role of Substitute Crossing Guard for backup coverage. Substitute Crossing Guards will be on-call and be required report to one of the following locations on short-notice: Crossing Guards are responsible to safely escort pedestrians, during school crossing hours, as defined in the Highway Traffic Act across roadways at designated school crossings by monitoring traffic flow gaps and assuming right-of-way, while adhering to regulations, policies and procedures. - Penetanguishene Rd/Albert Street, Hillsdale; - Yonge St S/Houdon St, Elmvale; - Queen St E/Simcoe St, Elmvale; and - Doran Rd/Belmont Cres, Midhurst. Position Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: - Safely direct or escort pedestrians, as defined in the Highway Traffic Act, across roadways at designated school crossings by monitoring traffic flow gaps and assuming right of way. - Be punctual, arrive on time and remain at school crossing location for the scheduled hours. - Deal with all contacts in a courteous, friendly an...
