Description Job Title: Medical Assistant Float: Supervisor: Practice Manager: Employment Type: Full-Time: FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt: Location: Various: Requirements: SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES: The position of Medical Assistant is responsible for filling in the roles that the clinic is currently needing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions of the Medical Assistant Float position can be divided into the categories of Scribe duties and Circulator duties. During any particular patient visit, the Medical Assistant Float may be responsible for performing some or all of these functions, depending on the nature of the visit, the wishes of the Provider and the presence or absence of a second assistant during the patient visit. The Scribe duties that may be assigned to the Medical Assistant Float include, but are not limited to, the following: (1) Accompanying Provider into the patient examination room and accurately documenting the Provider’s encounter with the patient, including HIP, ROS, Physical Assessment, Education, Lab Orders, Radiology Orders, Assessment/Plan, Billing, and Meaningful Use.
