Classification Title: Assistant Professor in Creative Writing (Fiction) Classification Minimum Requirements: Candidates for this rank shall hold the highest degree appropriate to their field or possess equivalent qualifications based on professional experience. A book or substantial record of literary works is required. Job Description: The Department of English at The University of Florida invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor position to teach in the BA track and MFA program in the field of creative writing, fiction specialization, effective August 16, 2026. The normal teaching assignment is two courses per semester. The successful candidate will be expected to 1) maintain an active writing and publication career, 2) teach four courses per academic year at the undergraduate and graduate level, and mentor and advise undergraduate and graduate students, 3) contribute service to the Department, the university, and the profession.
