Job Description Assists, provides information to and gathers registration information from patients and/or patient's relatives to process/coordinate registration, scheduling and billing. Job Responsibility: *ADA Essential Functions - * Functions as representative of hospital when assisting and providing information to patients and patients' relatives. - Receives telephone calls; takes and transmits messages; answers routine inquiries and refers others to appropriate sources; confirms appointments. - * Interviews patients to obtain and record pertinent financial and personal data. - Verifies patient eligibility; obtains appropriate identification (e.g., driver's license, medical insurance cards) and necessary referrals; and updates information as appropriate. - * Registers patients in appropriate computer system noting no-shows and cancellations. - Enters charge-information, closes out visits and schedules visits. - * Performs a variety of duties to ensure the proper collection of financial data and payments. - Prepares itemized bill, advises patients of total charges and records payments. - Collects all appropriate co-payments at time of visit. - Completes and reconciles insurance...
