Responsibilities We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative ITAR Specialist to join our team in the greater DMV area, supporting the Army National Guard. Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and maintain ITAR/export control policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with ITAR, AECA, EAR, and related U.S. export laws. - Classify defense articles, technical data, and defense services; manage registrations, license applications, exemptions, and jurisdiction/classification determinations. - Serve as subject‑matter expert advising legal, security, engineering, supply chain, program management, and senior leadership on export control obligations and risk mitigation. - Conduct compliance assessments, internal audits, and investigations; develop corrective action plans and track closure to strengthen the compliance program. - Support government inquiries, voluntary disclosures, licensing interactions, and audit responses; maintain required records and evidence for regulatory review. - Deliver export control training and awareness programs; develop controlled technology management plans and training materials. - Coordinate cross‑functional workflows for controll...
