More than 50% of the incumbent's time is devoted to supervisory responsibilities, including communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees; planning and directing their work; and exercising authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees (or effectively recommend such actions). The incumbent also develops performance expectations, conducts regular performance discussions with staff, completes performance reviews, manages vacation and work schedules to ensure proper coverage, and approves timesheets.
