City/State Norfolk, VA Work Shift: Rotating Overview: Sentara Leigh Hospital is hiring a Patient Care Technician (PCT) for the Observation/Transition Unit. This is a Part Time, Rotating Shift (12-hour shift) position. Shift: Rotating. Two 12-hour shifts (24 hours per week), with rotating weekends. Department Overview: The Observation and Short Stay unit is a 21-bed unit caring for patients under 24-48 hour observation. We are seeking new grads or experienced candidates to join this team-oriented unit! The Patient Care Technician provides patient care, supports independent and dependent activities of daily living, vital signs, mobility and ambulation, phlebotomy, point of care testing, EKG testing, peripheral IV removal, specimen collection, and foley catheter insertion and removal, and complies with patient safety practices under the direction of the professional RN nurse.
