Job description

Description Estimates of emissions using measurements of the levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere can be used to verify progress towards decarbonization. HFCs are a group of gases with high global warming potentials whose production must be greatly reduced globally over the first half of the current century, following international agreements. A new multi-institute international project has been launched to monitor HFC emissions in up to 10 undersampled regions around the world using atmospheric measurements. We are seeking to fill up to two postdoctoral positions to conduct data analysis, assist with measurement site development and quantify emissions within the project. We seek candidates with experience in any of the following: ● Atmospheric chemistry ● Atmospheric transport modeling ● Geoscientific data analysis ● Inverse modeling This postdoc position will be based at either MIT or Georgetown and will be co-supervised by Luke Western (MIT), Megan Lickley (Georgetown) and Taylor Jones (Georgetown). Interested candidates should reach out to Luke Western (lwestern@mit.edu) and/or Megan Lickley (megan.lickley@georgetown.edu) and submit a CV and cover letter through Interfo...
