Assistant Resident Engineer

Job description

RK&K is seeking a dedicated Assistant Resident Engineer to support and manage NCDOT construction projects in Boone, NC. As an Assistant Resident Engineer, you will use your expertise in roadway/bridge construction, project management, and quality control (QA/QC) in support of complex highway and bridge construction projects. Essential Functions: - Directly supervise and provide engineering-level support for transportation technicians and inspectors - Provide prompt, professional public relations responses to various inquiries from the public, NCDOT officials, and other government agencies - Conduct daily coordination with contractors, NCDOT and project staff - Make critical field engineering decisions - Conduct environmental reviews and manage erosion control efforts - Perform contract administration and project management activities such as estimates, claims and change orders, supplemental agreements, monthly construction meetings, environmental compliance etc - Monitor and resolve maintenance of traffic (MOT) issues as they occur - Coordinate utility relocations - Manage transportation technician teams as needed - Participate in progress meetings and provide regular updates to th...
