Clinical Staff Pharmacist - (PBL) Huntsville Central Pharmacy - ( 2602460 ) Description The mission of Correctional Managed Care is to address the healthcare needs of underserved patient populations within the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ) and the Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD). JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the distribution and provision of safe, effective, and timely medication therapy through drug utilization review and collaboration with other healthcare professionals. Responsible for directing any combination of pharmacy technologists, pharmacy learners, or support staff in the mixing, packaging, labeling, and distribution of medications. KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: EQUIPMENT : Standard office and pharmaceutical equipment. - Interprets orders for medications and ensures therapy is appropriate for patient's diagnosis, weight, concomitant medications, drug allergies and age (pediatric, neonate, adolescent, adult, and geriatric). - Compounds and dispenses prescribed medications per orders in all patient care areas in accordance with departmental and applicable laws. - Detects, prevents, evaluates, and reports, when necessary, Adverse Drug Events. - Utilizes...
