Company: Allegheny Health Network Job Description: GENERAL OVERVIEW: This job transports patients, medical records, mail, specimens and equipment/materials throughout the facility. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum - Transports inpatients and outpatients within the facility from initial start location to the destination location. (70%) - Delivers equipment/materials and specimens to requesting department. Includes use of the pneumatic tube system. (20%) - Serves as a Hospital ambassador and provides information and direction to patients and visitors. (5%) - Ensures that transportation equipment is kept clean and in good working order. (5%) - Performs other duties as assigned or required. - High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. - Ability to maintain the highest measure confidentiality. - Good oral and written communication skills as well as strong organizational skills needed to maintain working relationships, with both internal and external departments and customers at all levels.
