Prepares accurate preliminary reports for physician review and ensures the quality and integrity of all sonographic data obtained. Key Responsibilities: At the direction of a qualified physician or advanced practice provider (APP), performs independent diagnostic ultrasound examinations requiring independent judgment and initiative in the utilization of ultrasonic equipment for diagnostic ultrasound examinations. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation. When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within the scope of practice.
