EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field and a minimum of six years of directly related job experience. Must be familiar with Motorola 2-way radio frequency (RF) trunked equipment and systems, data network architecture design, wireless local area network (WLAN) equipment and applications, and Oracle database management and Crystal Reporting. Equivalent RF and Radio Communication System experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of a degree. SUMMARY: The Sr Radio Communications Engineer position serves as the radio communications systems expert for the Authority on the implementation, upgrade, maintenance and optimization of MARTA's 16-channel trunked 800 MHz radio system and Automatic Vehicle Locating (AVL) system. The position also serves as the technical lead for the AVL and 800 MHz radio system and is responsible for managing and providing oversight for the fixed site equipment and mobile fleet equipment associated with the system.
