Job Description: Position Summary Under the leadership of the department Director and Assistant Director, the Oncology Clinical Trials/Research Nurse Navigator is responsible and accountable for all activities involving the recruitment and enrollment of study subjects and managing the critical study documentation and data collection. This responsibility includes adherence to all Federal, State and Institutional Review Board (IRB) clinical trial regulations and policies. The primary purpose of the Oncology Clinical Trials/Research Nurse navigator is to coordinate patient access to care including, but not limited to, clinical research studies. This position will act as a liaison to any relevant and accredited research organization. As a nurse navigator, the RN will utilize nursing skills to evaluate and report to the Primary Investigator Physician and other healthcare professionals any physical, and/or psychosocial issues and special needs of the cancer patient.
