Job Description: Graduate Assistant for Sports Performance DEPARTMENT: Athletics: BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for the usual and customary duties associated with assisting in the Strength and Conditioning of NCAA Division I Athletic Programs; responsible for knowledge and skills entailed in the sport being represented. UNUSUAL WORK CONDITIONS: Non-traditional work hours; possible extensive travel involved; potential exposure to blood borne pathogens. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL NEEDED: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree required EXPERIENCE: Related coaching experience preferred: REPORTS TO: Associate Athletic Director of Sports Performance ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Assists the Associate Director with the responsibility for a successful program. This involves: overseeing the comprehensive training programs of 3-4 teams, assist full-time staff with development and implementation of 1-2 additional teams preparing the teams for practice and competitions on a weekly basis, ensuring the rules compliance of the NCAA, Conference and the University with the assistance of the compliance Services on campus, immediate reporting of suspected or confirmed rules violations. 2.
