Calibration and Metrology Engineer / Lab supervisor

The Auburn Hills Facilities Engineering Service group is looking for an energetic Engineer supporting the Metrology Lab operations located at CTC. This Engineer will be responsible for providing operational direction to a team Salaried Bargaining Unit (SBU) Technicians as they provide high quality and expeditious repairs and calibration to test equipment located throughout the various laboratories. This position is responsible for the following. - Maintain Primary and secondary standards with investigation to alternate methods. This is the start of the traceability chain in the calibration world. This serves as the foundation to all calibrations performed on site. These standards are a requirement to maintain calibration of approximately $1B worth of assets here at CTC (i.e. Wind Tunnel, NVH, Emissions, Dyno Test Ops, and EMC) - Ensure we have equipment that meets a 4:1 accuracy ratio for calibration test uncertainty (TUR) and provide calculations to demonstrate the ratio. - Evaluate new equipment purchased in the engineering community and develop in-house procedures to accommodate required turnaround time. - Provide/Develop solutions to reduce calibration error and increase throug...
