Overview UIC Bowhead Transport seeks an Able Seaman to assist with deck operations, including line handling, standing watch and off-watch duties, performing deck and engine security rounds, and fulfilling any assigned security or emergency responsibilities for its Anchorage, Alaska location. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Vessel Master or Mate as needed. Responsibilities: Essential functions will include: - Adherence to company policies, USCG, and environmental regulations. - Representing the Company to guests, customers, the public, government, and other external sources. - Good seaman skills, including: ability and knowledge to proper vessel line handling; tying, throwing, clean, coiled, and stowed properly. - Performing a variety of duties concerned with the operation and upkeep of deck department areas and equipment. - Scales, buffs, and paints decks and superstructure; sweeps and washes decks; splices wire and rope; breaks out, rigs, overhauls, and stows cargo-handling gear, stationary rigging, and running gear; secures cargo; and launches and recovers boats. - May rig and operate hydrographic and other specialty winches; handle and stow oceanographic explosives; and...
