Substance Abuse Counselor

Job description

The Salvation Army Midtown Service and Treatment Center is looking for a Substance Abuse Counselor. This individual will be r esponsible for counseling clients, conducting intakes, assessments, crisis intervention, developing treatment plans, ongoing follow up counseling and treatment plan reviews, developing safety plans, group therapy, and education and facilitating referrals. This is a full-time, exempt position, pay is based on experience. 1 William Booth Drive O'Fallon, MO 63366: Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field with two years’ full-time experience in treatment or rehabilitation of substance abuse required; Alcohol, Drug or Substance Abuse Counselor certified by the Missouri Substance Abuse Counselors Certification Board; Inc. will be considered. In additions, o ne of the following credentials is required: QSAP, CADC, CRAADC, CCJP, CCDP, CCDP-D, LPC, LCSW or Clinical Psychologist. CPR/First Aid certification required. Must be able to demonstrate general computer, strong organizational and good communication skills.
